Max Payne 3 DLC Plans Revealed

Rockstar will release new multiplayer maps, modes, bursts, items, playable characters, challenges and more over the coming months for Max Payne 3.

"The story of Max Payne 3 begins in the single-player game and crosses over into the deepest multiplayer experience we've ever created," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We intend to support the Max Payne community with new and innovative content well into the future."

The first map pack, Local Justice, is coming in June and includes the Police Precinct map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer multiplayer modes along with two additional maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, new precinct-themed multiplayer avatar items, multiplayer challenges, and more.

Starting today, you can preorder the Rockstar DLC Pass for Max Payne 3, giving you access to all the download content for Max Payne 3. It will cost 2400 Microsoft Points or $29.99. Rockstar says this pass is a 35 percent discount if all the DLC was purchased individually.

Comments
  • I'm ok with this. DLC is always good, so the season pass seems like a smart purchase.

  • my jimmies have been irreversibly rustled.
  • The Rockstar Pass for L.A. Noire was excellent value but that one was only $9.99.  With this pricetag there must be a massive amount of content to come, implying a strong dedication to making the multiplayer a worthwhile investment.

  • cant wait for this. mp3 is going to be such a great game. pretty much locking myself up, with my phone off and the lights down low for a few days when my copy arrives via amazon.

  • Yes! Just Come Out Already Please !
  • sigh and the new price of full games seems to have finally settled in :/ I love the concept of DLC but these pricing models are ridiculous and now unfortunately instead of companies gaining more revenue from me I skip purchasing 90% of the games I would have bought just for the simple fact that I do not want to feel short changed a month or two down the road when I need to pay ~$15 for content that should be free
  • Another season pass? It's mostly map packs, so I don't know if I should get this.

EDIT: No, I'm not buying this, unless the multiplayer is really fun and keeps me coming back for more.
  • i'm going to have to play the single-player first to decide whether or not to buy the DLC. The season pass would definitely be the way to go if I do

  • DLC already announced for a game that hasn't been released. At least they're not releasing the DLC day 1 ** cough** Mass Effect** cough.
  • there are WAY to many map packs PLANNED already. It's one thing to add it later, but the game isn't out yet and they already know they will make 6 map packs.
  • Wow, that's a lot of DLC.  But are games ever going to give DLC to the campaign?  Like KoA?

  • Max Payne is okay, im just buying it to see how GTA5 gangs will work, MaXP is a sample of what f'in good things to come..... boyeee...

  • The Uncharted multiplayer was awesome, but was not worth the Fortune Hunter's pass for me because I knew I was gonna put it down when Skyrim and AC: Revelations came out. I'm pretty sure I'm going to shelve this when RESI 6 and ACIII come out, so IDK about shelving 30 bucks for map/mode packs of a game I might not be playing after a 3 months
  • Unbelievable that companies try to get their biggest fans to shell out $90 for a video game

  • The Rockstar pass seems great. Let's hope the community stays strong with the amount of DLC that is planned to be released.

  • Best buy gives you the first paid DLC pack for free if you pre-order. Great to know what I'm getting in advance. $30 is a lot for a pass for a game I may not play a ton of. If I get hooked then I'll consider it, always try the game out before buying the pass.

  • Right. Because Max Payne isn't mostly about the singleplayer story its about the multiplayer....this is so dumb.
  • DLC before the game comes out. There is something oddly funny about that. Maybe the next thing we will see is -1 day DLC.
  • Most Likely The Contents Are Already On The Game Just Waiting To Be Unlocked.....Starting To Hate The Video Game Industry

  • Mod
Multiplayer for this looks really good too and R* has always done DLC well in the past. I'll be picking up the season pass for sure.
