Batman: Arkham City Video Shows The People Behind The Microphones

Batman: Arkham City's game of the year edition is hitting stores next week, which explains the timing for this behind-the-scenes look at the Arkham City's recording process. Check out the video to see Batman actor Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill's Joker at the mic.

As you can see below, Hamill really gets into his performance. Like really, really into it. You may never look at the game the same way again.

For a look at how Rocksteady recorded the game's sound effects, watch this dev diary focused on Arkham City's foley artists.

Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition is coming out May 29th on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

  • Mark Hamill is AWESOME!.
  • Would you look at that, the same people who made me love the animated series I grew up with and they just can't lose their edge. Good job guys and thanks GI for posting this!

  • Laughed my freakin ass off at 1:56-2:01

  • The Police should keep Mark Hamill under surveillance. He's got more free time now and clearly has a criminal genius streak in him to give such a good performance.

  • I did not know Beckett from Castle was Talia. That's pretty cool. And of course Conroy and Hamill will forever be the definitive voices of Bats and Joker for me.
  • These videos are always the most interesting

  • Wow. Amazing video. Thanks for posting this GI!

  • Didint he reconsider coming back to revoice the joker too?
  • Holy crap Mark Hamill is terrifying. And It's Becket from Castle!

  • Hamill seems like the only one who can do it. I dont think anyone else can play the voice of Joker as good as he does.

  • Tara Strong is best voice artist Kthxbai
  • Mark Hamill arguably help create the Joker as much as Bob Kane, Miller, Loeb, Moore, etc... He is a master at the voice and I don't think he will ever truly leave the role. He may take extended breaks but I am confident that the next animated film or if Rocksteady does make a third installment (which I believe they will) the real Mr. J will be back.
  • Awesome.  I've wanted to see a featurette like this for a while.

  • god that was awesome. Mark Hamill is so awesome at being the joker that it almost seems like he's not the one talking in the video
  • Arkham City had truly stellar performances, from Nolan North's surprising turn as a cockney Penguin to Grey Delisle as Catwoman, Troy Baker's Two-Face, Tara Strong perfectly taking Arleen Sorkin's place as Harley (I personally like Tara better) and of course Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill's best performances as Batman & Joker yet. The list goes on and on, and I agree with Sefton Hill's opinion of great acting making a great game. Another fantastic video, I'm hoping there's going to be at least one more. :)
  • Wanted to see Harley Quinn's voice actress..
