The lights are on
Foley artists have one of the coolest jobs around. They get to mess around with celery and Rollerblades at work, and they get paid to do it. Check out this new Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition trailer for a behind-the-scenes look from Rocksteady's audio team.
The video below focuses on the sound effects, showing how the team creates the sounds of breaking bones, flapping capes, and mad scientists getting smacked in their faces.
Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition is coming out May 29th on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I love this type of video. It's always interesting seeing the devs work, plus it's always cool seeing how some sounds are made because in game they tend to sound very realistically but then you realise that what was actually recorded is nothing like what you seen on screen.
Developer videos are always awesome. It's stuff like this that we take advantage of when we play these blockbuster games.
Simply Amazing! I think it about time I pick up that Catwoman DLC. worth it imo
Personally, I would have just found a mad scientist and slapped them in front of a mic. But I'm an artist :P
These people do incredible work and this video is a perfect example to show how sound design is one of the most integral elements that bring a world to life. Excellent video, I love developer insight like this. :)
Tell it true Jeff C., you'd like a job where you can sit around bashing stuff.
Man that looks like fun. And that's such a fun game. I need to go play it again.
was that harley quinn scene from the upcoming dlc?
An Game of the Year Edition, interesting...
this is awesome :D
I'd love to see how they designed the GOTY Game Cover.
That's interesting. Things we don't normally get to see.
