Something's Up With Brothers In Arms: Furious 4

Ubisoft and developer Gearbox Software have been all too quiet about Brothers In Arms: Furious 4. The game was due out in 2012, but we've seen nothing since it was announced at E3 last year.

It was discovered by Internet sleuth superannuation that Ubisoft recently dropped both trademarks for the game. When asked for comment, a representative told Game Informer, "We don’t have anything to share at this point in time."

This recent news doesn't mean Brothers In Arms: Furious 4 is canceled, but it's certainly not looking too good. Game Informer has reached out to Gearbox for additional comment.

  • oh yea.......forgot about that game. guess im not the only one
  • That's sad, the game looked fun
  • This looks unfortunate, the announcement at last year's E3 really got me excited.  I was looking forward to the Inglorious Bastards style the game seemed to have.  Hopefully everything pans out for the better, I'm starting to get nostalgic for WWII shooters.

  • That sucks! That looked so awesome. I laughed so hard at the reveal trailer!

  • Oh now I remember this game......it looks pretty bad.
  • Mabye Gearbox decided to put more into Borderlands 2 instead. Its possible the Furious 4 team was told to work on the 5th class for Borderlands 2, the Mechromancer class. Who knows?
  • I was looking foward to this...........

  • Meh.

All I saw was a CG trailer for a game that has no hints of gameplay or story.

So, it's not like I was teased with content and now it's being taken away.

  • I hope they change it back to the series roots rather than this Inglorious Basterds-esque plot (and not just because I hated that movie). The whole reason I played BIA was because of its realism and focus on strategy.
  • I wouldn't be surprised. Join the list of 2012 casualties.

  • I didn't think it looked like the most promising concept, in the first place. Not to mention, Gearbox is already busy with Borderlands 2.
  • IT looked dumb anyway, I miss WW2 games, especially now that modern warfare has taken over....go back to its roots, not this Inglorious Basterds clone
  • Though I didn't care for their use of the Brothers in Arms name, I thought the game sounded like wacky fun. This isn't looking too good.

  • Well Gearbox does have its hands full with Borderlands 2 and Aliens:Colonial Marines, so I am sure/ hopeful that the game has been shelved for now to concentrate on the formers.
  • Well clearly it was dropped due to its awful name

  • As long as Aliens: Colonial Marines is awesome I am fine with whatever they do.

  • *sadface*

That looked like it was one I may have played.  I would have had to see more before deciding but it was definitely promising.
