EA revealed the active subscribers for Star Wars: The Old Republic has dropped 400,000 since earlier this year.

Two content packs, Legacy and Allies, will be available in the following months.

Comments
  • It gets to expensive so fast. if you play it for one year that's $180.
  • going back to WoW?
  • Too much money up front, too much money each month, too much complication/no entry level gaming for MMO noobs. I can't see that the days of paying $15 a month for a single game will be lasting much longer.
  • Focused too much on story and not so much on enjoyability, in my opinion. I don't mind story, but if that's the biggest draw I'd rather read a book.
  • I can almost see the free to play model now

  • Played for the first month and I was gone quickly after. If I wanted to play WoW I would pay Blizzard. I know I am being a LOT harsh, but GW2 has my attention. Play TOR like you would KOTOR.
  • Wasn't only 1.3 even playing anyways?Not that bad.
  • Ouch.  And that is only going to decrease.

  • My bro still has his subscription going, but he never plays it. I wonder what the numbers would be if they add lazy people like him.
  • I dropped it and I didn't even realize it. What really surprised me was that I didn't even get an email telling me my time was about to expire (I subscribed with a game time card). If they can't be bothered to send me a stupid automated email asking me to give them more money then they can't have it.
  • wow

  • That's to bad I was hoping this would get more support and interest.

  • SWTOR was simply not unique enough - creating a WoW clone with voice overs brings nothing new to the genre.
  • It appears that I'm one of the few people who is still enjoying the game. But 1.3M isn't that bad, is it?
  • That's unfortunate. But I can see MMO's going the way of Free-to-play.
  • Thats just bad planning. They should do some research I don't think mmo's are in anymore They're too many products to choose people can't commit to one game.
  • Everybody is releasing this article as if we are supposed to be surprised.....its kinda funny.

  • So much for the WoW killer....
  • I just didn't find it that entertaining anymore, couple that with the fact my computer is crap to play this game on and I just didn't want to play anymore.

  • I'm still enjoying it, but average population on the server I'm on is 10 -20 people per planet.
