Bethesda Hiring For Next-Generation Consoles

As if we needed more evidence that new consoles from Sony and Microsoft are coming sooner rather than later. The developer behind the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is hiring for a new game on future consoles.

"Bethesda Game Studios is looking for experienced programmers to work on cutting-edge technology for an unannounced game on future-generation consoles," a job posting reads.

To date, Skyrim has shipped 10 million copies worldwide. Parent company ZeniMax Media recently acquired the rights to develop a Fallout MMO title.

My guess is towards it being Fallout 4, although I'd rather that come out this gen instead of next gen. If Fallout 4 came out next gen it'll probably have the same type of limitations that Oblivion had when it 1st came out. If Oblivion came out when Fallout 4 did back in 08 it would've been better then it was in 06.

Sony and Nintendo just need to announce the consoles. It's not like we don't know they're being developed. Also, hopefully this means the new Fallout will be on next gen :D

It really doesn't mean anything. After Fallout 3, they announced they had a product in pre-production while they had been working on Skyrim for a few years. I'm guessing that Fallout 4 will be released on the current gen and whatever they decide to work on after that will be next gen. Skyrim was in production for 5 years, so for all we know they're hiring for a later game that is just beginning development.

The game will more than likely be terrible on the new Sony Console, assuming they keep the same track record as they did with the PS3.

The smart move would be to make the game on both this generation and next generation consoles. From what Ive read in other comment sections, most people dont seem ready to accept the next generation of console just yet.

Congrats for buggy Skyrim Bethesda. Regardless next gen consoles need to be fully customizable like PC's, it's the only way to stay relevant to even come close to pc performance. Own 360 and PS3 btw.
