The lights are on
NCSoft may have only been accepting entries for its latest Guild Wars 2 beta push for 48 hours, but that didn't stop a massive one million players from signing up for a chance.
We were informed of the milestone today by NCSoft senior public relations manager Lincoln Davis, who says that the interest in the game "clearly demonstrates players demand for something new, and Guild Wars 2’s innovative design philosophies are proving to be just what they’ve wanted."
Sadly, the sign-up period for this round of the beta is now over, but if you want to know what you'll be missing out on for now, you can read my highly positive beta impressions.
Da fuq are those elf-midget things? (First thought that came into my head lol. Sorry, they just look deformed)
Wow, that's amazing. It is about time we saw something new, especially from NCSoft and their great concepts. I'm glad I signed up in time!
Indeed, Asuran's are ugly...to ugly even to spitroast.
But the numbers are indeed impressive. Wish they were lower to raise my own chances, but none the less it is quite a feat.
I made the deadline but I hope if I do get a chance to play the beta I dont have to go to work that day.
Yay! They're speaking about me!
Looking forward to playing this, beta or not.
Well, those li'l elves 'ave some dern-cutesy li'l eyes right ther.
Honestly though, I would have loved to have taken the chance to sign up for the beta. The game looks awesome... If the console rumors are true, lets really hope Microsoft is okay with it this time. I wouldn't mind playing on PC, but my buddies are all on Xbox, unfortunately :/
This looks to be the best game I have ever played in all of my 25 years playing. If you have not yet done it, take a look at the classes and abilities videos. It blows away anything ever yet attempted in an MMO for gameplay. The possibilities are amazing and the encouraged class cooperation is really ingenious (with all the ways abilities can play off those of other classes) which offers needed motivation for groups and grouping in modern MMO's. Also we get no complaints about subscription fee's to kill population although I would happily pay a huge monthly fee for this experience were they to ask me.
SWTOR can't hold a candle to this gameplay and while story, as entertaining as it is, can add a lot to the leveling experience it doesn't get you through months and years of end-game play, where the meat of the experience lies for most of us.
its over? nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
