The lights are on
It's not surprising to hear that this year's entry into the Call of Duty franchise will feature a Vita version this fall, but it's nice to get some sort of confirmation.
In an interview with GameTrailers.com, SVP of PlayStation brand marketing Guy Longworth confirmed that we will see a Call of Duty on Vita in "Autumn."
There's no telling if it will be a Black Ops 2, Modern Warfare 4, or maybe World STILL at War, but it will be for Vita, and I'm sure it will be impressive.
We contacted Activision for additional comment and will update the story when we hear back.

It's both concerning and impressive how much Activision is getting out of the Call of Duty franchise. As long as they produce quality games and not big map packs disguised as titles, I won't complain.
Oh jeez. As if playing CoD on a big screen wasn't tough enough. Now they try to stuff it all into a tiny screen like elephants in a shoe box. I just don't see CoD working on the Vita at all. The lack of buttons on the Vita could be a downfall, as well. Please just stop it CoD. It won't work. The only thing it's gonna be good for is getting fanboys to buy the Vita.
While I said I was done with COD on full consoles after MW3 (which I do like). I would be willing to get this for my Vita.
Never say DIE!!!
As long as it's an original game and not just a port, I'll be happy.
ok seriously enough with these games. I know they sell well but it's same stupid game over and over again!
Guy Longworth. How has nobody commented on this name yet??? GUY LONGWORTH! HAHAHAHA!
It'll just be a ported version of the new COD. I'm not really hyped for it, as it's not really being made exclusively for the Vita.
For some reason I'm more excited about a good portable version of call of duty than a console version. Playing on the fly would be fun. Oh yeah, and to make this stranger for me, I really hate call of duty.
I hope its a fun game with good multiplayer that takes good use of this platform, but knowing Activision it's going to be an awful port that has no online multiplayer like the DS and PSP COD games.
Yay ports. But honestly though, if they do port the next black opps on the vita, it will probably sell systems, it was truly wise of Sony to strike this deal with Activshion.
I could care less...COD has become the Madden of shooters...new title every year with very little change. I'm done with COD. And as for Vita, why pay for a handheld system when I (and many people) have 2 consoles. Won't play it at home...when I'm away from home I'm at work or running errands, so when I do play something it's a pick up and play on my iPhone. There is no way I can justify paying $250 for something I would hardly use.
I will buy this for my vita for sure! i hate call of duty online but something about having it portable with that good of graphics would just be amazing!
Omg awsome i cant waot for thos hopefully some one invents a rumble feature for the vita to vibrate when.shooting that would be awsome i love the vita i dont even use my ps3 lol yeah is also funny i bought twisted metal which is an awsome game and uave paid no mind to it cuz of the vita jaja this is so awsome sony i love you
Reason # 2 for buying the vita.
