Epic Mickey 2 To Support Wii U?

Even though it hasn't even been officially announced, more details about a rumored Epic Mickey 2 sequel are emerging. It may not come as a surprise to hear murmurings that Junction Point's sequel includes support for Nintendo's Wii U, considering that the first game was a Wii exclusive.

Internet sleuth Superannuation posted the following tidbit on its Twitter account: "Apparently Junction Point is 'implementing Wii U support for Epic Mickey 2.' Not sure if that means WiiU SKU or Wii version supports tablet."

Of course the typical "rumors are rumors" caveat applies, but considering the source this seems to be on firmer ground than the typical rantings of an online madman.

  • That's no surprise at all. You want to get your game in the hands of as many people as possible, right?

  • Please just fix the camera and the game will be amazing!!

    or...at least 10x better.
  • This interests me. If it fixes the issues of the original it could very well be an awesome game.

  • I'm actually really excited for this game. I loved the first game, so if they can update the controllers, graphics, and gameplay I'll be all over this.

  • so is the bunny now part of disney from now on.
  • If it gets released with a port of the first for the PS3, then I'll buy this. Picky or not, I hate getting into series in the middle.
  • I liked the first one and if the wiiu has a few extra good launch titles it will help convince to purchase it.

  • First things first, why was this article rated with one star?!

As for the article itself, I guess they're talking about the tablet since the Wii U's already compatible with Wii games or maybe they're referring to a possible port?

Either way, seems good, I never played Epic Mickey but from what I heard it's a pretty decent game.
  • hopefully all us dummies will "understand" this one better

  • Has it been confirmed that Epic Mickey 2 will be multiplatform yet? Last time I checked it was only still a rumor that it was being released to the PS3 and 360.

  • hope its better than the first one

  • Yes...YES....MAKE IT ALL TRUE....

It would be a no brainer if you ask me....now....re re release Okami for the system and I'll buy you system Day One.

  • This would be a good fit for the system.

  • Hmm I never got around to playing Epic Mickey. Add it to the list!

  • I was told Epic Mickey was good. Hopefully, that constitutes a better sequel. It would be on a better (presumably) system, after all.
  • Why even release it on Wii at this point? Its 2012; the Wii's SD output is only holding you back (and Epic Mickey was pretty gorgeous, too)

  • still havent played the first. should be pretty cheap now, so ill give it a try

  • Well good, when it was first outed and showed no signs of being on Wii U I had thought that they went crazy, glad to see that isn't the case...

  • I still need to play the first one.

  • Hope this fixes all the bugs of the last one and is the PS3!
