The lights are on
When Rockstar started showing more and more of Max Payne 3 late last year, we started to think that the game was on the right course and that it would be smooth sailing until the game's release in March. Clearly, that was a mistake.
The game's March release date has been changed to May 15, which pushes the title out of Take-Two Interactive's fiscal year. Accordingly, the company is now forecasting a loss for the fiscal year.
"We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly, and this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our company," said Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick of the delay:
Max Payne 3 will appear on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 15, and then on the PC on May 29. For the latest on the game, check out these new screens.

may is always a good monthe to sell since not to many games sell much during the spring time.
The longer the better.
This just in.....
My morning... it is ruined.
In all seriousness though, I'm sure most gamers are still playing catch-up from the fall releases (I know I am) and the period from the end of January through March is jam-packed with releases already so delaying it two months is no big deal. I just hope it is being delayed solely for financial/business reasons and not because they think they have a stinker on their hands. I'll take a mediocre Max Payne sequel over a lot of other third person action games but I really hope this one is GOY material.
2012 is going to be the year od the delay!
Wasn't it two or three years ago this game first appeared on Game Informer's cover? This better be good, Rockstar.
...how am I NOT surprised?!?! ... this is getting kinda pathetic. Just wait a few more years no worries. ... I don't know whats worse this or Bioshock's delays... Max Payne for sure but still... c'mon
On the lighter side.. This game best be perfect then if its taking forever to be released. I don't think I'm the only one who is going to expect a near perfect game from all of this
Whatever, that's good news to me. March was starting to look like November with all the games being released(Mass Effect 3, Silent Hill Downpour, etc) so this gives me time to catch up on games I missed(I still have to play Dark Souls, Saints Row: The Third, and Rayman Origins).
Not surprising in the slightest.
I can't wait for Max Payne 3, but it is better this way. With Mass Effect 3 coming 6 march it would be very hard to find spare time for both games. Just hate this lame corporative excuses.
Fffffffffffffuuuuu
Is there a hidden camera somewhere?
I could care less for Take Two's fiscal year! When I read the title I immediately thought "It's coming until late 2012...." But May is not so bad, actually it kinda helps my wallet recover from all the holiday spending, I also recently bought Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 is also just around the corner, so yeah this works out just fine.
I highly doubt a game about a guy who jumps around shooting guys will by "groundbreaking". Fun certainly, but not groundbreaking.
