First Look At BioWare's New Franchise

Here is the first image of Bioware's new, unannounced project, set for reveal at the Video Game Awards show next month.

The image reveals a fantastic-looking collision in a desert setting. Like what you see? Click below for an expanded view. We'll be posting the first screenshot of the next Alan Wake game later this afternoon.

The Video Game Awards show airs on Saturday, December 10 on Spike TV, MTV2 and Spike.com at 8:00 p.m. EST.

  • Looks like Rage.
  • Combat racing, maybe? That'd definitely be a different route for Bioware.

I can't wait for the VGAs, not only for the awards themselves, but to hear Dan rant about it on the GI Show.

  • Looks post-apocalyptic, which is cool I guess but it doesn't look like a Bioware game, looks out of norm, so render me excited.
  • Kinda reminds me of Borderlands. Can't wait to find out more.

  • I'm not really impressed by the image but it's just a single screenshot. I'll wait to judge it until I see an actual trailer.
  • Looks like Rage and Borderlands. Racing, desert, weird character......More of the same?
  • That is not Jade Empire...I am dissapoint.
  • post apocalyptic mass effect?
  • Pretty much thought the same thing as everyone else, Post-Apocalyptic look a la RAGE and Borderlands...surprised Bioware could be taking a hand at this recently overdone genre, but if anyone can take a worn out genre and make it amazing, Bioware can do it!
  • Huh. The first thing that comes to mind looking at that is Borderlands/Rage. Interesting, and definitely a different setting for Bioware.

  • Hmmmmm... Well it is Bioware, so I'm sure everyone will love it. lol

  • Hmmm the cars look too "present" to be Post-Apocalyptic. Something in the desert does not mean Post-Apocalyptic. I mean look at the pick-up truck. It has an (air)gun on it. It seems they are destroyed by something really powerfull. Sci-Fi?
  • Finally, looks like they are shedding RPG pretences they've been doing lately. Post-apocalyptic is one setting they haven't touched yet.
  • Hmm I love BioWare, Borderlands and Rage, but this will have to do something really special to buy into this concept again, to judge by this one screenshot anyway.

  • Looks like Motorstorm meets Brink.

  • from the look of that pic it seems like they jumped on the borderlands/rage/fallout money wagon. It is bioware, and they are slowly turning into a greedy, money hungry, fan ignoring, dumb down games for the masses type. Why cant game devs in general see that if they just appeal to the core then they will not lose loyal fans? it is just one screen shot, and this is my own opinion, but come on.. do we realy need more wasteland games?
  • I think Bioware is finally creating an action title. Pure action title. With their awesome story, of course. It will be interesting to see what they do.

  • Racing game?
  • Not exactly a great screenshot to release if you want people to get excited. But then again anything new from bioware is reason enough to get excited.
