The lights are on
Update: The "amazing" announcement pertaining to Nier isn't related to a sequel. Instead, it's a concert to be held only in Japan on October 28. That isn't bad news, considering that Nier's soundtrack is one of its highlights...but the announcement is probably a bit disappointing for fans who were hoping for another game installment.
Original Story:Nier has an audience of deserved fans, but it didn't seem to quite make the impact that demanded a follow-up when it released in 2010. Yosuke Saito, the producer of the game, is dropping hints on Twitter that there may be some news about Nier tomorrow.A sequel to Nier is the obvious assumption, but it really could be anything. All Saito said was that there could be an amazing announcement soon, and then he tagged his tweet with the hashtag #Nier.Joe Juba didn't get too excited about Nier when he reviewed it, but our reader review score is pretty high. What do you think? Do you want to play more Nier?[via Siliconera]

I personally enjoyed this game and its world enough to play a sequel, so, yeah. I'm interested.
I loved Nier. The soundtrack and narrative really just took me by surprise on how much I enjoyed it. I could just relax while playing that game. Although, I do understand as to why the game scored what it did.
Never played Nier but from what I've heard it's pretty good, I'll have to give it a try some time.
Nier was a very good game IMO. The only thing I didn't like was all the backtracking, but I can easily overlook that. Really liked the story and the music was awesome!
Hmm, I enjoyed Nier although I haven't finished it yet. Played most of the way through though. I guess I'm gonna need to pop it back in my system if there's a big announcement related to it coming.
A sequel? That would surprise me too. I mean, I didn't play it, but I don't know anyone who did.
I never got to play Nier but I was interested in it. I'm sure it would find an audience if there were to be another game.
whats my husband play it normaly its the kind of game i'd like but it didn't look too great seemed kinda dull accualy idk if it picked up farther in but from what i seen it didn't look like it needed a sequel
I personally hated Nier i could not stand it and i love almost 99.9% of RPG's
i would love another nier but if the production values are as low as the first game i would hope thay make it a budget title
i loved this game...i want more...i loved the soundtrack..such good work but was unnoticed by many gamers
Nier turned out to be one of my favorite games this gen. It had it's flaws in the production area but the story was amazing and the gameplay was fun.
i love Nier, got day one and i still play it today (actully i played it last night lol) and i would reserve and buy the sequel day one, i hope they announce it!!!
