Majesco Releasing Kinect-Based Twister Game This November

by Phil Kollar on Aug 29, 2011 at 03:50 PM

Tiny publisher Majesco has already struck it big with Microsoft's Kinect courtesy of its licensed Zumba Fitness game. Now the publisher is giving the motion controller another shot, this time with a video game version of popular board game Twister.

Reuters reports that Majesco has signed a deal with current Twister license holder Hasbro. The game resulting from the deal will release on November 1 for $50. It will feature 16 different game modes, including one that's similar to the classic game of Twister and one in which players have to dodge shapes that pop up on screen.

The Reuters report mentions that "up to eight" people can play at once, but given the problems I have even getting two players to work with Kinect in my living room, I'm guessing that those players will take turns. I'm definitely interested to see how the game pulls this off.

According to Majesco chief executive Jesse Sutton, the publisher is looking at Twister for Kinect as a potential hit and, as such, plans to market it aggressively. Anyone interested in getting tied up in knots in front of Kinect?
