Nintendo Announces Skyward Sword Release Date

Nintendo has just made this upcoming holiday season that much brighter with the hard confirmation of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's release date.

The game will come out on November 20, and it'll go up against stiff competition from everything from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to Uncharted 3.

Zelda is easily one of my favorite series ever, but i still dont think i can choose this over skyrim or uncharted with that month of releases, ill have to wait and see.

I don't think you should have cited MW 3 or Uncharted as specifically being competition considering that they are shooters, if some one wants a Zelda game they aren't even going to look at shooters, but I do understand that there are several games that could overshadow it, but it's not very likely imo.

This looks to be the best Zelda at least from a visual standpoint. Not a fan of motion based gaming so that is a little bit off putting.

I still need to learn more about the bird bits before I can decide if I'm picking this up. If they control as terribly as the bird in SMG 2, and birds=Epona in SS, I think I will pass. Spirit Tracks almost ruined Zelda for me, I can't bare to play another bad game.

Stiff competition yes, but it is Zelda so it should be just fine. It will be one of the select few games I do play on the Wii.

there is no reason why this wont sell like waffles on waffle day. 25 years of growing brand power has a massive name recognition and selling power that uncharted and skyrim dont. Modern warfare is going to sell because thats what cod does noone cares about quality in singleplayer with that we just want to pwn n00bz online.
