Blizzard Raises $1.9 Million For Japan Earthquake Relief
Back in May, Blizzard put up the new Cenarion Hatchling pet (pictured above) for sale on the World of Warcraft pet store, with all proceeds going to Japan earthquake relief through the American Red Cross. Today the publisher announced that they have raised $1.9 million from the cute virtual pet.
WoW Insider reports on this impressive number, which suggests that Blizzard has sold nearly 200,000 of the pet. Previously Blizzard donated $1.1 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation from sales of the Pandaren Monk pet. The Hatchling, meanwhile, is still available on the WoW pet store for $10, so go check it out if you'd like to give to a good cause while getting a new virtual friend to follow you around.
