NASCAR The Game 2011 Gets Four Fresh Tires With DLC

by Matthew Kato on Aug 01, 2011 at 10:14 AM

When Activision's NASCAR The Game 2011 came out in May, it was in a weird position. On one hand it was more near the beginning of the NASCAR season (even though it started in February) than EA's titles before it, but on the other, the game itself mirrored the 2010 season more than it did 2011. Now Activision and developer Eutechnyx are remedying that situation with DLC that is now on Xbox 360 and PS3, and is free to PS3 users.

The DLC, when included with the regular game, now lets player play though the 2010 and 2011 seasons by adding the features specific to the 2011 season such as: The 2011 points system, 60+ new paint schemes, new drivers in new places, and Daytona's repaved surface. The game also includes night races at Charlotte, a new damage system, and an online hardcore racing mode.

This add-on content is free for PS3 users and 160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360 fans. On the PS3, the DLC will be incorporated into the game's Patch 2 (which addresses other issues with the game), and for Xbox 360 Patch 2 is free (and separate), but the DLC is 160 points.
