The lights are on
Is the Japanese Wii-exclusive RPG coming to America? Based on this recently trademark filing, it appears so. Fans of Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's Mistwalker studio (which made Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey) have been hoping that The Last Story would make it to the west, but it had not been officially confirmed by Nintendo that the game was being localized. This trademark filing should not be taken as the final word -- companies like Nintendo often make trademark filings for names of products that are never released -- but it's certainly a good sign.Based on everything we've seen of the game so far, including the trailer below, The Last Story looks like an intriguing Japanese RPG experience -- something the Wii has sorely lacked.

It's not Lost Odyssey 2 but it'll do. Even if The Last Story got terrible reviews, I'd probably buy it new just to show support in hopes that Mistwalker gets to work on LO2.
I think this was filed on January 2010 i remember seeing the news and just until now i assume they just received it (cause it takes a long time), still it would be a nice surprise if Nintendo actually brought it.
SO...HAPPY.....
I don't have a Wii...But good for you guys :)
The wii could have some interesting final days.
HELL YES!
I smell potential... Them japs may want to consider releasing it worldwide.
This is great! I think it could sell really well if they market it as "from the creator of Final Fantasy". This was a really good move(if not an obvious one).
We could only hope...
O.M.G. This is frickin' awesome. I haven't bought a game for my Wii in a while. So glad I have it in it's box so it doesn't get all dusty and ***.
I suppose by opinion is hesitantly optimistic.
Last Story looks really good. I might actually get this and Xenoblade when they get released.
Good job Operation Rainfall!
