The lights are on
Mirror's Edge 2 may or may not exist. Even EA doesn't seem to be sure, sometimes saying it's canceled and other times saying it's in the works. Whatever the state of the follow-up, developer DICE continues to assure fans that it hasn't forgotten about the franchise.
Speaking to GameStar in an interview at E3, DICE's Patrick Söderlund said the following when asked about Mirror's Edge 2: "We have not abandoned the franchise. And, you know, we are working on something – but I’m not willing to talk more about that.”
That doesn't necessarily mean Mirror's Edge 2 is fully underway, but at least we know that EA and DICE are aware that demand for a sequel exists.

fun game but way too short

Jesus just imagine Mirror's Edge 2 with the Frostbite 2 engine...it would be the most amazing and immersive game ever.
I must say, ME was just such a unique game to play for me, that i absoultely love it and would love to see a sequel. So this is good news to hear since it has always been "up in the air" on development. I just hope they arent holding back on development cause they want to put in kinect or move support....just get the game out!
What a game! Loved it! It was refreshing, it had platforming that most developers argued couldn't be done properly and it had great artstyle. It really needs a sequel, deserves it. Plus, it was thought out as a trilogy...
how could they, they used the body motions from mirror's edge into battlefield 3, when something explodes next to you you fall back and you see your legs and all that just like in mirror's edge, I feel that they made mirror's edge as an experiment on platforming in FPT and implemented it to BF3. So i know for a fact that they are working on part 2 to experiement more on that formula to implement them into futuge DICE games.
Wasn't there a little E3 display that was Mirror's Edge related?
Also, ever notice how certain games are always "maybe sorta underway, but not forgotten"? looking at you, BG&E2...
They (not EA or DICE but game companies in general) are also aware of the strong demand for a sequel to Psychonauts, and that's not happening anytime soon.
Hurry up and make it already! Anyway, why are people STILL complaining about the gun play. One of the points of the game is the sense of feeling screwed. How can you feel that way, if you're lugging around high-tech guns as if it were Call of Duty? How is a couple of runners with pain sticks going to scare you, if you have a P90 automatic weapon?
Every time I take a gun from the cops, during that particular chase scene, the fear immediately stops. I just shoot those 2 tight-suited fools and go peacefully on my way. What fun is that in a game like this?
I keep hoping that after Battlefield 3 ships they focus on one of the best original games I've played in years.
Sure it was flawed and some things didn't work great, but using the frostbite engine 2 with new animations and some more stuff, I truly believe they can make as big a leap in the sequel as the Asssassin's Creed 2 improved greatly on it's predecessor (I'm aware they are different companies, I'm just stating the improvement the game received was huge).
I'm confident that we'll see another Mirror's Edge at some point. My guess is DICE wants to make sure everything is a go with Battlefield 3 and maybe the plan has been to bring Frostbite 2 on board with the sequel.
I have a feeling that shortly after Battlefield 3 is released we'll either get an ME 2 announcement or a cancellation of ME 2. At this point, and knowing EA, it could go either way. *Frets*
Thank god, I know this isn't an official announcement but at least we know somethings going on. Which is good because when I first heard it was "canceled", I died a little inside.
As long as the drop the esurance style animations.
