Rumor: Rockstar Games On Board With Next Nintendo Console
French website 01net's unofficial sources claim that the Grand Theft Auto creators are supporting Nintendo's next home console.
The website has been on a hot rumor streak of late. First it broke the NGP story before Sony's press conference, and then it followed up our report about the new Nintendo console last week with more speculative information about the system (you can read all about it here). Now its sources claim that Rockstar Games is already in possession of a hardware development kit for the unannounced platform.
This move is surprising considering Nintendo's family friendly corporate image. It also stands to reason that Rockstar would be gun shy to work with the Japanese console maker again considering its last foray, the DS title Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, failed to find a GTA-sized audience despite garnering critical acclaim. Other websites are wildly speculating that the title could be Grand Theft Auto V, but we'll believe that when we see it.
