Duke Nukem Forever Release Pushed To June 14

Duke Nukem Forever's release has been delayed one final (hopefully) time. The "unshippable" game will now hit retail in North America on June 14.

No reason for the delay was given, but if it’s any consolation, Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford was surprised by the announcement, too. Check out the entertaining apology video below.

Does the tongue-in-cheek video take the edge off the delay? Or are you upset that you won’t be spanking backsides in Capture the Babe on May 3?

[Thanks to Kyle Czarnecki and AwesomeTrumpetGuy for the tip!]

  • Disappointing, but as long as this is REALLY the last time then I'll live.
  • I think they are just doing this to remind us how much we want it.
  • One last delay for old times sake. Well, at least DNF feels like a summer game anyway.
  • Lol, by that time I'll already be knee deep in LA Noire!
  • BREAKING NEWS: The game was just delayed until September, no December, no 2012 . . . we might see it by 2013 (hopefully).
  • No surprise here, the next delay won't be one either. 3 years from now when it finally releases, then I'll be surprised.

  • I just saw the email from the First Access Club in my inbox. I hope this is seriously the absolute final time the game gets delayed. Oh well, at least they have a sense of humor about it.
  • At least they're trying to avoid negative coverage of the delay.

  • I just laugh when I read this.

  • I'm glad so now it will release over the summer and I will have enough time to get some money to buy it!

  • It IS saddening but there are plenty of other awesome games that were coming out in may to tide me over till then. That is actually what I bet the reason was for the delay. They didn't want to compete with LA Noire or Brink.
  • Not that bad it'll be fine, gives me more time to play the many unfinished games I own.At least they made it funny though.
  • hahahahahahahahahaha.  I literally can't stop laughing at this.

  • and so it begins...

  • Doesn't it seem odd that the international date is now earlier than the NA date? Something about this seems suspicious to me. Maybe it will just show up one day.
  • I'm okay with this. I have Duke Nukem Forever, Operation Flashpoint: Red River, and L.A. Noire pre-ordered, so this spreads the release dates out a little more, but still keeps them all well within the amount of time where I won't beat one and spend weeks just waiting for the next game to release.

  • I think this is a joke.
  • Not surprised, but I love the video XD

  • Randy Pitchford is the man, I trust he will get the game into our hands when its ready. Another month means more polish for the game:)
  • Why do I get the feeling this has happened before...many, many times?
