Want To Know What It's Like To Write About Games For A Living?

by Phil Kollar on Feb 03, 2011 at 01:55 PM

One of the most frequent questions I get about my job -- right after "How do I get hired as a games writer?" -- is whether it's as awesome as it sounds. And, hey, I can't complain too much. But as exciting as it is, the wide world of games journalism can also be pretty strange. Case in point: Games Journo Story.

This short indie RPG was created by Brendan Caldwell, an actual games journalist for U.K. site Resolution Magazine. It's full of goofy inside jokes, pseudo-intellectualism, and lots of drinking -- just like writing about games in real life!

So how is it? I wouldn't know; I gave up halfway through, just like any true games journalist. Luckily, you can download it for free and find out for yourself at Caldwell's blog.
