Dead Space Movie Could Happen, Won't Be 'Cheap Cash-In'

by Phil Kollar on Jan 31, 2011 at 02:10 PM

Do you enjoy the world and story of Dead Space and its newly-released sequel, despite some of its weirdness? Well, I've got potentially good news for you. It sounds like the team behind the game is very seriously looking at possibilities for a live-action film based off of the horror game, and they want to make sure it's done right.

Dead Space art director and co-creator Ian Milham explained the studio's measured attitude toward a potential film adaptation of the series to BBC:

"We would love to have a live action film and we've had a lot of discussion. But one of the reasons Dead Space still exists and is popular is because we've made sure to do everything right. So we're doing the same with the film, not just a cheap cash-in but to do something really worthwhile, so we'll see."

I'm glad that they are seemingly being very careful in how they grow the franchise, although saying they've "made sure to do everything right" may be a bit of a stretch.
