Valkyria Chronicles 3 First Japanese Trailer

We were big fans of the first two Valkyria Chronicles, so when Sega announced Valkyria Chronicles 3 for PSP in the fall we were a little excited. Now that the game’s Japanese trailer is out we’re a lot excited.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 takes place during the events of the first game and follows a squad of soldiers referred to as the “Nameless,” so called, because each soldier is referenced only by their code number. The Nameless take on jobs that can’t be assigned to regular army units. Sounds like a sweet premise.

The trailer doesn't show much in the way of gameplay, but you can check it out below.

I have played the demo for both, and I was not impressed. I was mislead into believing that these were RPGs, when in reality, they are games that require much strategy, which I have none of.

If anything, why can't they port VC2 and 3 and sell it at the PSN store? Then they wouldn't have to make it a full-fledged $60 dollar title like the first one, and can keep the smaller scale battles because of it. I love Valkyria Chronicles but I'm not about to buy a PSP just to play them.

Why they decided to move to the PSP after it reached such success on the PS3 made absolutely no sense. Looks like I will be missing this one as well because I am not buying a PSP to play one game.

Cool. Just finished the first game and I'm curious what they got up their sleeves for behind the curtains fighting. Prolly Maximillian had one of these secret squads you have to battle against. BTW, I don't mind it being on the PSP (I'm just glad it's not on the PSP2 as I don't want to buy one just for this game)

I wish this series would go back to the PS3. I recently picked up the first Valkyria Chronicles and loved it, but now I won't get to play the sequel or this one because I don't want to waste my money on a PSP I'll barely ever use.

Does the sexy character really have the last nap Lipps? Lots of really good character design though. After so many years of watching countless animes and stuff, you really get used to seeing more of the same every time, but I'm impressed here.

So how does a series start on a next gen console and then completely go over to a bad excuse for a handheld? I wish they would bring this back to PS3. Great franchise being underutilized on a *** handheld.
