Beenox Named Developer For Activision’s Next Spider-Man Title

by Ben Reeves on Jan 13, 2011 at 05:48 AM

Activision must have been pleased with Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, because the publisher just announced that the game’s developer, Beenox, would be the lead developer for the next couple Spider-Man titles.

Shattered Dimensions is certainly one of the better Spider-Man titles within memory. Hopefully Beenox can shatter player’s expectations with its next game, in a fashion similar to Rocksteady’s work on the Batman franchise. Activision is putting faith in the studio, as it has committed to them for multiple games.

“We are thrilled with this opportunity to continue our close, collaborative relationship with Activision, Marvel and everyone’s friendly, neighborhood hero, Spider-Man,” said Dee Brown, studio head at Beenox. “Being able to map out Spider-Man’s interactive future gives us the creative freedom to really craft the best gaming experience for the fans.”

Activision hasn’t announced what the next Spider-Man title will be called, or when we can expect to see it, but it sounds like the game is in good hands.
