Reader Discussion: What's The Worst Game You Played This Year?
Considering some of the rage this has stirred up across the interwebs, my guess is Entertainment Weekly writer Jeff Jensen has a few death threats sitting in his inbox. Why you ask? He picked Wii-exclusive platformer Kirby's Epic Yarn as the worst game of 2010.
"Worst" is a pretty powerful statement. Considering the critical praise Kirby's latest adventure has received, it's surprising that Epic Yarn earned this title over craptacular games like Fighter's Uncaged or the disappointing Alpha Protocol (can you guess what my pick for worst game of 2010 is?).
Jensen writes: "There's a fine line between cute and grating, delightfully busy and irritatingly overwhelming -- and for me, this hyperactively adorable side-scrolling puzzler crosses it." Second worst on the list? Metroid: Other M. Thoughts?
What do you think is the worst game of 2010? Considering this is about the time of year that games press outlets start listing off their favorite games, we should also take a minute to remember (then quickly forget) some of our worst experiences this year. Looking for two responses: Worst game of 2010 that you actually played (even if you only play good games, pick the worst), and worst game of 2010 overall (game that sounded so bad you wouldn't even try it out).
