The lights are on
THQ and director Guillermo del Toro have been keeping this project under wraps with very few clues on what to expect. Last we heard, del Toro described the game he is working on as "...a very different type of horror game. It's not survival horror. It's truly a strange, geeky mix. It's a Lovecraftian thing. Let's leave it at that." The project revealed tonight at the VGAs is called Insane.
We didn't get much more than creepy, cryptic imagery. Check out the debut trailer below.
I am sure the story will be great w/e Guillermo tells. I just want to see game play because that make or break it for me.
That was... well, creepy. I would need to see some more detail to get me hyped, though.
Looks cool.I hope it delivers.
i did what he said and **** my pants
Eww, needles make me sqeemish, the ending was freakish, lol.
I love all of his movies, I'm really glad he's taking a shot at a video game. Look up the Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth on youtube if you're not familiar with how well he can create horror (and that wasn't even a horror movie).
Although it seems like a lot of the games that have attempted the Lovecraft inspired elements haven't been so good (except for Amnesia), I think he'll pull it off. Even if it sucks gameplay wise, it'll probably still be horrifying.
AWESOME!!!! Anyone else detecting some definite "Call of Cthulhu" influences? That's a crap ton of tentacles, and Del Toro did say it was Lovecraftian... Maybe it's not directly related to Cthulhu, but Lovecraft definitely wrote a ton about insanity as a result of experiences (direct or indirect) with his demonic "Great Old Ones," so maybe it stems from that? Btw, Lovecraft is f*cking brilliant, definitely read some of his stuff if you haven't before.
High hopes for this one
Lovecraft + del Toro = awesomesauce
