Angry Birds Headed To PS3, PSP, DS

I'm going to admit something: I don't really know what Angry Birds is. See, I don't own an iPhone. However, pretty much everyone else around the office does, so I've been hearing the words "Angry Birds" in passing for weeks now. If publisher Chillingo has their way, I may finally have my chance to discover this mysterious game.

In an otherwise fluffy story by The Sun about this downloadable game's success, Chillingo co-founder Joe Wee revealed that they are planning to bring the game to the PlayStation 3 as well as PSP and DS. He doesn't mention any details on what form the release will take, but it's probably safe to assume that on PS3 it will be a downloadable PSN game rather than a retail release.

Are you already well-versed in the language of Angry Birds, or will you be discovering this apparently super-addictive title for the first time with me when it makes it to these new platforms?

  • i never heard of this game and all my friends have iphones lol

  • I have this game.  It's great.  It's my favorite game on my phone.  I wish they would port it to the pc since not all my friends have iphones and that way we could compete for high scores.

  • This is gonna be awesome i cnt wait.

  • cool.

  • Ya-himma-hah! Thats some Angry Birds Language I think (its the sound the red birds make.) I'm not really sure what it means or how well versed it is, however. A full blown HD version with extra features would be awesome for ps3. But if its just a lame ass PSP minis port I don't think I'll rebuy it.

  • I hate to see what they charge on the PSN and for PSP and DS. When they see the price tag for the game on iTunes I see a lot of people getting angry. It is a very awesome game and definitely worth more than the 99 cents I paid for it on iTunes. It's easily a 10 dollar game at best with all the updates it gets.

  • It won't be nearly as fun on the psp and ps3. What makes it so addicting, fun, and playable is being able to pull the slingshot back with your finger.

  • I might play on the ds if i didn't have an ipod, but i do.

  • I'm in the same boat as you described in the first paragraph. I hear the name tossed around alot, and even some in depth conversations about strategies on certain levels, and its all lost on me.

  • i wanna try this

  • personally think it is best for iphone but great for those who haven't experienced yet.

  • Angry birds is great. But it's only 99 cents! They had better add some content for a retail release!

  • This game is fantastic... i don't even own an iPhone and generally speaking i'm an Apple hater(yeah i know...) but i'd buy this in a heartbeat. i can't wait

  • I'll stick to the iphone version...

  • I'll stick to the iphone version...

  • why spend on something you already own?
