EA Invites Joe Montana To Talk Madden

by Phil Kollar on Jun 14, 2010 at 12:50 PM

I don't know much anything about football, but I recognized the name Joe Montana when EA called him out during their E3 press conference.

EA took their regularly allotted time to talk about the yearly Madden installment, Madden 11, which will apparently have simpler play calling, 3 vs. 3 online play, and a new "game flow" system that allows you to alter plays in real time.

All of that is fine and probably meaningful to people who play football games, but the real surprise of the show was when they brought out Joe Montana, a fellow who I understand is quite well-respected in the sport.

According to Montana's discussion on stage, the game flow system is a lot like real play-calling during an actual game of football. It's almost like playing Madden makes you a real Hall of Famer! Almost.

If you care about the actual game, check out our new in-depth preview of Madden 11 (written by Matt Bertz, who definitely actually knows about this stuff).
