Shank, an upcoming action game being brought to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC courtesy of EA, is one of the most promising downloadable games we've seen in some time. Today, it got even better-looking, as EA has revealed that God of War writer Marianne Krawczyk is penning the story for Shank.

Krawczyk says she fell in love with Shank's art style, which led to "creating a story that will allow gamers to explore a world where values like integrity and loyalty take on their own twisted meanings."

Jamie Cheng, CEO of Shank developer Klei Entertainment, added: “When Shank was first conceived, we envisioned a fully realized world with provocative characters living out a mature, cinematic story. Marianne has been able to flesh out our characters, and create a gritty, personal and unique story of full frontal revenge.”

With previous experience writing for all three God of War games, stories of full frontal revenge are something Krawczyk knows plenty about. In an interview with Game Informer, she added that she's spent just as much time working on Shank as she would on a full-budget game, so don't expect it to skimp on plot just because it's a downloadable.
