Harmonix Collaborating With Other Devs on Green Day: Rock Band

by Phil Kollar on Jan 27, 2010 at 12:44 PM

Those who are hoping that the recently-announced Green Day: Rock Band is a tribute to the classic pop-punk band that's on the same level as The Beatles: Rock Band may want to scale back their expectations a bit. MTV Games has confirmed to Joystiq that Harmonix is working on the game "in partnership with Demiurge, MK12, and others."

This clarification comes after blogs mistakenly reported that Demiurge Studios would be handling Green Day: Rock Band all on their own. MTV Games also noted that Demiurge has had previous Rock Band experience, working on both the Rock Band Country Track Pack and the Rock Band Metal Track Pack. Still, it's good to know that Harmonix will have some involvement.

That said, we have to wonder what Harmonix is up to these days. It's unlikely that the whole studio was busy with The Beatles: Rock Band, and now that they've got others helping with Green Day: Rock Band, we've got to imagine they have something else up their sleeves for 2010. What do you want to see from Harmonix next?
