Kojima Calls Obama Peace Prize "Start Of The Peace Walker Plan"

by Phil Kollar on Oct 10, 2009 at 03:33 PM

Whether or not you can actually understand them, it's fair to say that Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima has created some very politically charged games. Perhaps that's why I'm not that surprised to discover that he's left some cryptic messages in his blog about U.S. President Barack Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize earlier this week.

The blog translation comes courtesy of Andriasang (via Joystiq). Here's the full entry:

"President Obama, who declared 'A World Without Nuclear Weapons' in Prague, has won the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Has the era at last started shifting?

"The start of the Peace Walker plan? I hope that comes to be.

"'Peace will not walk to you'

"'You must both walk towards one another.'

"From the gym."

So, that's...something. I'll give Kojima the benefit of the doubt and assume that some of the weirdness in that post is just a bit of "lost in translation," but you've got to give the man some credit for moxie in using real-world events to reference his upcoming PSP game.

I can't tell if he's genuinely pleased about the award choice, slightly hesitant, or whatever else, but two things are for sure: He's Kojima, and he's blogging from the gym.
