The lights are on
Red Barrels' horror game Outlast has been attracting attention for delivering spine-tingling thrills to PC. Join editors Ben Reeves and Jeff Cork as we investigate a seemingly abandoned asylum to learn who (or what) is running things.
Outlast is another survival-horror game that adds tension by what it takes away. Your character, a reporter named Miles Upshur, isn't able to fight back against the various threats he encounters during his investigation. That means players will have to constantly be on their toes, monitoring their environments through a handy night vision-equipped camera. Check it out in our Test Chamber below.

I approve of this game and this Test Chamber.
Nice! I've been wondering about this game, nice to see some of what it offers.
Which is is in fact not so abandoned after all.
you went to school for reporting? hahahahaha
That screech on the tv is totally from Gauntlet Dark Legacy.
I loved this game (tho I was watching a person play it) it totally gave me nightmares and made me wanna run myself. But the doctor scene ugh >.>
This looks really good. No map or weapons definitely ups the ante in regard to horror. No map alone is enough to induce anxiety attacks. It makes it a lot more realistic for sure. Well, as realistic as breaking into a haunted asylum with nothing more than a camcorder can be.
Scares aside, though, I feel that if the whole game is you and your camcorder looking for batteries and files, it could get boring - 'could' being the key word here, as I have no idea what to expect. Just a thought.
Other than that it looks really good. I like what I saw of the environment, and the night-vision thing, and I really like the minimalist or realistic concept of no map or weapons. This Test Chamber has definitely aroused my interest in this game, so thanks!
Game looks pretty great. I jumped a few times just watching this brief Test Chamber. I was going to hold off and get this when it came out for PS4 instead but I may just get it for PC as I don't want to wait. Can't imagine it'll be too taxing of my PC.
My type of game! Creepy stuff! Guess I'll get this one for the PS4! Thanks for the Test chamber dudes! Awesome!
The end of the video was a nice way to finish.
And no pun intended, but I guess the setting of Outlast is somewhat of a literal Test Chamber...
Pretty eerie looking game.
Great Test Chamber. I'm actually more excited to try this game out after watching this.
I can't wait to play this when it comes out for PS4.
