I was super on the fence about this one from the beginning. It just didn't seem like a huge step forward, but at least it didn't turn out bad.

I want this game but I'm not buying anymore games till the PS4 comes out so i can spend like 300 bucks just for games and accessories

Really looking forward to picking this up soon. Like others have said, it doesn't seem to really add too much new, but GoW 3 left me wanting more, so that's not really a problem for me. I thought the multiplayer was a blast when I got to try the beta, too. I really want to play it with a group of friends.

I'd rather play something different like Revengeance than pay 60 damn dollars on a game that just looks pretty and does the same crap it did for 7 years now and don't even get me started on DmC. ....also cockroaches have been known to crawl in your ears and mouth and lay eggs in you while sleep. I'm talking normal american roaches here people.

Getting the collectors Edition sent me on one hell of an adventure before work today! Despite being quite like a mouse....after watching my friend play the Demo my mind was *BLOWN* have always been *** enthralled with Kratos and his adventures. This is actually the first time I've bought the game for myself. I borrow games often from friends. Finally I was like might as well buy the games I love starting from here on out since I have a great job and love it <3 after going to three BB stores and dealing with so much BS...I got my hands on a collectors Edition hell I'm satisdied with the box BUWAHAHA which I have to stare at all damn day til' I get out of work.

Its a B- game in my opinion.

Been playing the game all day today. It is awesome. Much better than GoW3 but not as good as GoW2.

Dan's opinions pretty much mirror my own. God of War III is one of my favorite games of all time, and I've been a huge fan of the series ever since the first game. God of War probably sits in the top 3 video game franchises for me. Yet, I have no desire to go out and buy this game. From all the trailers, press coverage, and even playing the demo myself, it's all just seemed very average. God of War III was like a 9 hour, action-packed highlight reel. How do you live up to that? How does any game opening live up to climbing up Mt. Olympus on the back of a titan, fighting dudes, and poking Poseiden's eyes out from his own point of view? I bet not even this game's biggest moments lives up to just the first hour of God of War III. Then, there are a few little things that just reeaally bug me for some reason. I hate the fact that they took out the floating "O" button above dying enemies, and that they changed the on-screen prompts from actual PS3 buttons to some weirdly shaped stone(?) looking things. Were they trying to make it less "game-y"? Then don't have QTE's! Sony Santa Monica should have either never made this game or went all out and tried their hardest to out-do the previous games; to really "wow" gamers. Instead, they're just rehashing the same basic story with yet another prequel and messing with the fundamentals of what makes God of War combat what it is. They really didn't need to make this game, and I honestly wish they hadn't. It's a blemish on the otherwise perfect run this great series has had.

Metal Gear Revengeance = God of War: Ascension > "DmC"

I look forward to seeing what Platinum Games and Santa Monica do on PS4... Ninja Theory, not so much. God of War 3 definitely had the most wow factor, but something tells me this game was just a filler while they work on the new console project. I'd like to see them make a game in Feudal Japan with an assassin type of main character or even a Medieval setting, something like Demon's Souls.

So I'm maybe 4 hours into this and idk man, something just feels off about it. I've beaten all the others and platinumend 3 which was just the best in the series and I wanted more so bad and was sad the tale was over, but I think I would've rather them do a different protagonist in a different time period and mythology. I've played all the others on hard and this on is just unforgiving its the parry/block that I think is throwing the combat off. Not to mention missing all the crazy different weapons you gt throughout. Multiplayer is fun, but I feel like the story wasn't the main focus this time. At least so far that's what I'm getting. Is a drop dead gorgeous game and after the first level I was really engaged with giant bosses and the scenery, but the story is lacking so much it's really changing e whole feel of the game. Turns out that really makes a difference in this series. Hope they listen to criticism and try something different with PS4. Is fun just idk man

Looks good, but I'm not going to buy it when BioShock Infinite--which is a newer experience for me--is coming out in a couple of weeks.
