What We Want From Skyrim DLC

Dragon Mounts
At this year's DICE, Todd Howard teased a number of additions to Skyrim that the team dreamt up during a week of brainstorming. Many of these things will likely never see the light of day, but we couldn't help getting excited by one possibility: dragon mounts.

Sure, being able to ride a dragon would probably ruin the game, and make getting around Skyrim's massive countryside way too easy. We don't care. Most players have already spent a hundred hours exploring the land on foot and use fast travel anyway. Hitching a ride on the back of a dragon would at least keep them in the game world, instead of traveling via a load screen.

Dragon mounts could also require you to capture a dragon before using it for transportation, which could lead to some interesting gameplay scenarios – and be the perfect excuse to revamp dragon combat for something a little less exploitable.

Real Dragon Shouts
Ever since modders added Kinect support to the PC version of Skyrim, we've wanted this to be a real thing. Not only would actually shouting dragon shouts be entertaining, but we'd love to use voice commands to equip spells and weapons without having to open a menu. Bethesda could take another page from BioWare's handbook and add a quick save voice command too. If nothing else, we just want to be able to yell, "Shut up!" at guards who start complaining about their old adventuring-related injuries.

More Hot-Buttoned Abilities
Some folks may think this should be included in an update but we don't care. At this point we'll buy anything in order to have more hot-buttoned abilities. We don't mind if we have to explore to some old Nord ruins and fight a bipedal skeever karate master to uncover the Sacred Power Wheel of Antioch. All we want is to map a couple more abilities to the D-pad. Give us a way to quickly throw on our lockpick-boosting boots or equip a stoneward spell. Scrolling through a crowded quick menu to get from bound sword to steadfast ward takes far too long. Better yet, Bethesda could borrow yet another page from fellow RPG mastermind BioWare and give players the option to equip an ability wheel like in Mass Effect 3.

  • Great idea: just make Fallout 4 and forget about Skyrim.

  • Great idea: just make Fallout 4 and forget about Skyrim.
  • Great ideas, some of these seem more like they should be part of an update though or free dlc

  • Giant Sea monsters would be a great one, and have packs with the Stormcloaks winning and one with the Imperials winning so we can see the outcome.
  • ALSo, new creatures and much more powerfull ones at that! I used to be killed by a regular old ice troll, or even a herd of mudcrabs( one time ordeal, u had to be there...), but fighting the mudcrabzilla we saw or a giant land snake or something, that would be cool!
  • I want a DLC that would create a third side in the war and has customization. You are the leader, because the Stormcloaks have good and bad points and so do the Imperials. When I finish the Stormcloak side I then regret it and want to do the Imperial Legion side. And the same thing happens there. I want to redo it on the other side. And with the Thalmor extension on it.
Finally I want something to do with the Psijic order. Because they are the best mages and also hate the Thalmor. A dozen or so of their mages and they could defeat all the Thalmor that is how strong they are. So yeah a Psijic order DLC.
  • Did you honestly just say co-op?

  • New locations!!!!!!!

  • All of the above exept Dragon mounts.

  • I got bored of Skyrim within a month. I hope the DLC gets me back into Skyrim.
  • how bout more weapons

  • Some kind of Vampire DLC that makes being a vampire not a complete waste of time. Perhaps a Master Vampire DLC where you can grow too powerful for the suns effects or have a constant pacify aura around you so people don't kill you, or when you feed you actually get stronger (how it should be anyway) Being a vampire is just such a waste in this game, especially when compared to the con-less werewolf. There is literally no reason to not be a werewolf.
  • I will return to Skyrim as soon as Bethesda fixes all the glitches and bugs plaguing the game.
  • More quests in Sovngarde would be nice. I would also like them to do something with the mysterious Dwarven race that "disappeared".
  • I just want it to come out soon.

  • One word, MODS
  • I think kinect support would be cool. If it worked as well as Mass Effect 3's then that would be really cool!

  • A time traveling mission that goes back to like the First or second era where we could fight along side The 500 Original Companions or Tiber Septim, see the Falmer at their peak, and see what happened to the Dwemer.
  • I agree on everything you just listed, except the co-op. Some single player games need to remain single player. And I believe TES should remain that way. But some things I would like to see. A place where you can keep all you companions in one spot, instead of going all around the land looking for a specific person I want to travel with. I also would like the option to either adopt kids from the orphanage in Riften, or procreate with someone. And maybe some different breeds of dogs. Oh, oh, and the giant Mudcrab from the video of the devs. having fun making crap.

  • Co-Op?
You seriously don't get this game to even suggest it.

Dragon Mounts would be game-breaking. It wouldn't necessarily ruin the game, but flight would certainly break it.

The last one I have issues with is your Thalmor idea. First and foremost, almost no one in Skyrim would support them. Most Imperial supporters stand by the Empire as the only force that could hope to hold out against the Thalmor. The Stormcloaks oppose the Thalmor absolutely. If you can't tell by talking to most High Elves in Skyrim, even they dislike the Thalmor. Moreover I hold that Elder Scrolls 6 will take place on Summerset Isle (aka Alinor), and the Thalmor will drive the game.

The rest I'd like to see but there is one more than any other that I really, really want. MORE HOTKEYS. 8 Hotkeys might be enough for a Warrior and certain Rogues but as a Mage I have: Dragon Shouts, Channeled Destruction Spells, Targetted Destruction Spells, AoE Destruction Spells, Wards, Self-Healing Spells, Targetted Healing Spells, Armour Spells, Calm Spells, Fear Spells, Courage Spells, Frenzy Spells, Detect Life/Dead, Various Conjuration and Necromancy Spells & Turn Undead.
