The lights are on
Every so often, while browsing GI's massive vault, I stumble across games that helped define my childhood but that I had somehow forgotten about completely. Blaster Master for NES was just one such game. Radioactive pet frogs? A powerful tank that also jumps? What else could a kid ask for?
Join myself, Matt Miller, Andrew Reiner, and Jeff "The Fav" Marchiafava in looking back to see how well this game that I have such fond memories of has held up. The full video (including a bonus Replay Roulette) is below.

Kinda reminded me of Little Nemo: The Dream Master, I'mma try and play Blaster Master at some point. Keep it up dudes!
Another awesome episode. Can I just say, Croc anyone?
Frosty, as always... I'll throw in my 2 cents and ask for a Replay of Bible Adventures for NES! It's really, really terrible. www.youtube.com/watch
How do you guys do the roulette? Do you just blind fold a guy and send him in the vault?
an Earthworm Jim replay would be great!
ok this is my 1st comment. thx for motivating me to register with the mk/wu tang review. I've been hooked on replay now since i watched the twisted metal one and the MK review was hilarious. my Suggestions / Requests after seeing that are Shaq Fu, and Def Jam Vendetta. The Twisted metal one had me itching to hunt down or at least see you guys play the motorcycle combat game Road Rage for genesis. keep up the good work especially the replays that cover the evolution of a series.
You fight two frogs in the game, but you still save your frog at the end. So those must be other frogs. Evil frogs.
Speaking of frogs, those two, and the level 2 & 6 bosses could be easily killed by tossing a grenade in their mouth and quickly pausing the game during the animation. The game would continue to register hits for as long as the game is paused and then, after about thirty seconds, you are good to go!
I loved this game
Lol. Good stuff. Time for Team Buddies?
when the car fell in the disaster game it reminded me of the uncharted 2 train segment
I want an motivational editor...
lol hey hey hey hey hey!
you guys finally added sound to the slot machine sweet... awesome replay guys
It's too bad they don't make a good disaster themed game, I think that could actually be pretty fun if done right
I remember Master Blaster. That game was so difficult. My friends and I could never get the hang of it.
That Disaster Report game actually looks pretty interesting, I'm gonna add that to my Amazon wishlist.
that disaster game doesn't look that bad, I cant tell how it controls but it looks like it would actually be a fun game, was it that bad?
I thought the concept of this sounded familiar, and I did some resaerch and figured out that one of the games I played A LOT for the PS1 was Blaster Master: Blasting Again. This was when I was in the 4-6 age range.
Replay is such a great show.
great nes game
