The Art Of Epic Mickey

Now that subscribers are starting to get their copies of the newly redesigned Game Informer with Epic Mickey on the cover, we’re ready to show off a little more of the game. The assets floating around the web have had users excited but unsure about what Junction Point has been up to. Now we’re ready to show off the very first official art behind Disney Epic Mickey. This short video featuring music from the game will give you just a small glimpse of the world that awaits when Mickey Mouse makes his triumphant return to games.

And if you missed it, check out our exclusive time-lapse showing off more awesome art. And we've also got an Epic Mickey hub here.

  • Looks so awesome, can't wait.

  • They have a fantastic team of artist there. Love the music too!

I think I saw the head of another character from the game in this. Also, wouldn't it be cool if that same character was hidden on the cover?

  • Wow. It has sort of a steampunk vibe, but it's animated, and it's Disney... Very cool stuff.

No magazine yet today. I'm waiting GI! And now that I know that "Read Current Issue" isn't a digital copy, it better get here all the faster!

  • I'm not really stoked about this game, but that's just my opinion

  • Considering what you've said Reiner, and the looks of the art for the levels that character is in, I'm almost concerned some of this art may be from late in the game...  But Junction Point is smarter than that, would be fun if they were from very early on...  I don't know, with this and the new Mario games and the price cut, may be time for a Lowery family Wii.  I can buy it for my son for Christmas and just play it and nobody will know... muahahaha....

Watch the Junction Point Studio Profile for an obvious hint.

  • Awesome art direction. I wouldn't be surprised if Tim Schafer helped.

  • Cool.

  • It looks like theres a little rabbit on the cover. and a number five in the sky. whatever the heck that means

  • That does look pretty awesome. I'm extremely curious about Mickey's design though. It's not a deal breaker or anything, but I really want to know if he has pupils in this game or not.

  • OMG AWESOME

  • Meh. I could draw like that if I felt like it. (And you know, had talent and creativity)

  • Wow.  This really looks like a good game.

  • The art direction is a mix of great art and the cliche art style of Disney which is great for the future but might hamper the overall beauty of the art direction. Hope Disney goes farther into new venues of art styles in its animation and games. Then again can't say that I am a fan of anything Disney though I did enjoy Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 if just for the light hearted rpg gameplay.

  • I dig this new look, I am looking forward to this game!

  • I'm really loving the art and the music.

Seems like Oswald will be the definite villain in. I want more info!

  • I really wish I had a Wii... I LOVE my PS3, but sometimes, I would trade it for a Wii... this is one of those examples!

  • Oh, I see it! Pluto is on the cover! Thanks Reiner!

  • Wow that looked great. this is going to awesome.
