by Matt Miller on Dec 05, 2016 at 06:39 AM

A new trailer and behind-the-scenes video have appeared online, giving monster movie fans their first in-depth look at The Mummy. The movie is a reimagining of the classic The Mummy film from 1932, now set in modern day, and mixing action/adventure and horror elements. The movie is the first of a planned set of interconnected movies, in which Universal is relaunching many of its familiar monster franchises, including characters like the Invisible Man, the Wolf Man, Van Helsing, and Bride of Frankenstein.

The new film is helmed by Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan. Sean Daniel is also producing, who was involved in the most recent trilogy of Mummy movies. The new movie stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe, Jake Johnson, and Courtney B. Vance.
