SNK Working On Patch To Fix The King Of Fighters XIV Netcode Issues

by Suriel Vazquez on Aug 25, 2016 at 01:12 PM

One of the issues we had with The King of Fighters XIV in our review was its inconsistent net code. Match connections could vary from impeccable to abysmal, and the on-screen connection indicator didn't mean much. There was also an issue which caused matches to play out in slow motion. The latter may not be the case for much longer.

According to a translation by The King of Fighters fan site Mad Man's Cafe, SNK producer Yasuyuki Oda recently posted on Facebook that the company is aware of the slow-down issues in matchmaking and are working on a fix, with plans to release the patch some time next week. Apparently, the online Party Versus mode is currently unaffected by the slow down issue.

Our Take
A part of me kind of liked a slow-mo match everyone once in a while, but it's definitely an issue that needs fixing. It's great to hear SNK are proactive about finding a solution. Hopefully they can eventually address the inconsistency of online connections next.
