Battlefield 4 Update For One-Hit Kill Bug On PS4 Released

by Matthew Kato on Dec 05, 2013 at 03:23 AM

Battlefield 4 developer DICE has released a patch for the PlayStation 4 version of the game to fix a one-hit kill bug.

The bug occurs when a bullet causes double damage because its effect is applied over two frames instead of one. DICE says this is not to be confused with another bug where people die instantly when coming around the edge of a building. This is related to the game's death camera.

The update also enables audio in video captures on the system, as well as fixing a crash that would occur when someone has a large amount of friends.

DICE also says it's working on the next PS4 update which will fix other bugs, and promises to offer more game stability. No timetable for the next patch was announced.

Our Take:
I'm sure nobody at DICE wanted the game's launch to be this way, and it's easy to wonder if trying to get the game ready for the launches of two systems meant they had to rush things.
