Blood Dragon Breaks Half A Million In Sales

by Matt Helgeson on Jun 27, 2013 at 03:48 PM

Ubisoft's gonzo Far Cry standalone spinoff has posted strong sales so far, topping the 500,000 mark.

In an interview with Games Industry International, Ubisoft head Yves Guillemot said that the company's digital-only products have been a strong area of growth. In particular, he cited Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon as having sold over 500,000 downloads in two months. Guillemot also said that the game caused an increase in sales of the original Far Cry 3. This success will likely cause Ubisoft to look into creating more standalone spinoff titles like Blood Dragon based on its successful franchises in the future.

The success of Blood Dragon shouldn't be a surprise, as its one of the year's most entertaining games.
