Sony Creating Original Programming For PlayStation 4

by Jeff Marchiafava on Jun 10, 2013 at 04:00 PM

During its E3 press conference, Sony proved Microsoft isn't the only company that can provide movies, television shows, and music to gamers by outlining its programming plan for PlayStation 4.

Sony announced it's tapping Sony Pictures and Sony Music to create original programming for PlayStation 4. Additionally, its Video Unlimited service will provide over 150,000 movies and television shows on launch, while Music Unlimited will serve up over 20 million songs. Finally, Flixter and Redbox streaming services will also be added to PlayStation 3 soon.

Sony only spent a few minutes discussing non-gaming entertainment, before diving into a number of game trailers and demos, no doubt having heard the criticisms lodged at Microsoft after its Xbox One reveal.
