So I love working at game stop. I eventually want to work for a large developer. I would like to do the creative marketing for new game launches and for any new products or events that the company deems important. I have been going to school for buisness marketing in the hopes of taking over my dads company. however at this point in my life i think I would get the most enjoyment out of being my own man. I have been gaming all my life, I remember playing Wonder Boy on the original SEGA with my mom. I remember thinking how hard it was and thought my mom was so amazing for being so good at it. As I got older the SNES became huge and i would go to my friends houses and play Battle Frogs all night long! I loved that system...even then we would only stop to sleep and go to school. lol Then came the all mighty PS 1...while i dont recall being completly in love with that system, i do remember how excited i was to get my first disc based gaming system. I realize that the sega saturn came first but the games were so limited that I couldnt convince my parents to get it for me. Then came the wonderful PS 2!!! GOD!!! i spent so much time playing that system. I think my all time favorite game had to be Legacy of Kain...then came LoK Soul Reaver. I spend so much time playing Sony's systems. The original Mortal Kombat kept me and all the neighborhood kids inside playing non stop trying to figure out how to pull off even one single FATALITY! If your old enough to remember playing those games then you know that the codes werent listed in the pause menu like they are today. I will never forget the first time i acutally pulled one of! it was like the sickest thing id ever seen.
So here we are today and the consoles of the future are really something to marvel at. Hell, the first time i laid eyes on the Nintendo 3DS...I was simply astounded. Today every game that comes out is a piece of art. Games like Heavy Rain are inventing a genre that has never even existed. I am blessed to get to go to work everyday and enjoy talking about something that i have so much passion for. However I aspire to one day play a much larger part in the industry. I am steadily working towards a future where my kids will be watching TV and see an ad showing the next big advance in console gaming and know that I played a big part in its success. It will be a reminder of my childhood and the joy that gaming has brought to me. Hopefully games will continue to grow and inspire my kids to greatness!
