I was born in Athens in the last quarter of 20th century. I play games since around 1983, if I remember correctly. My first game was Rain Shower, a Nintendo Game & Watch game. I'm not very sure but I think I had Mickey & Donald too from the same handheld series.
Shortly after my parents bought me a home computer, a ZX Spectrum 48K. I played a lot of games there and spent many happy hours of my early childhood. I used to love particularly: Cauldron, Chequered Flad, The Rocky Horror Show, Saboteur I & II and Bomb Jack.
A couple of years later, influenced from my classmates I traded in the Spectrum and all of my games to buy a Commodore 64. C64 was a wonderful piece of home computer engineering. Way ahead from the competition, particularly in the sound department. I made a very good choice, but I wish I had kept my legendary Spectrum too. Anyway. My favourite C64 games were: Kung Fu Master, Defender of the Crown, Cauldron II, Match Day II, Green Beret, Platoon, Monty on the Run, Krakout, OutRun, Barbarian I & II, Target Renegade, Buggy Boy...So many fantastic games I can't remember them all.
Then from 1990 and almost for the entire decade I didn't play video games at all. I had other interests and hobbies and I was too busy with my studies. But when I saw in late 1998 in a friend's house the Playstation console and games like Tekken, Crash Bandicoot and Colin McRae Rally, I was dazzled. I bought one a month later and my first game was World Cup 98. That was the beginning of the gold age of gaming for me. Tomb Raider 1-4, Final Fantasy VII, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 2 & 3, Metal Gear Solid, Civilization II, Broken Sword, Gran Turismo, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, ISS Pro Evolution Soccer, Commad & Conquer Red Alert. What an era!
After the end of the Playstation around 2001, I didn't immediately follow the new age of the Playstation 2. I picked up gaming again in 2004, or late 2003. I bought the console together with Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil Code Veronica X and Final Fantasy X, these games brought back in me the interest in gaming. I played also some other great PS2 games like Metal Gear Solid 3, Silent Hill 2 & 3, Castlevania Curse of Darkness, Final Fantasy X-2, Gran Turismo 4, and Resident Evil 4.
Between 2006 and 2007 I didn't game so much, but when I bought the Xbox 360 and saw the High Definition image of games I felt the same awe that I had felt almost a decade ago with the original Playstation. In 2009 I bought a PS3 and the dream of the new age of gaming was concluded. Favourite Xbox 360-PS3 games were: Dead Rising 1 & 2, Command & Conquer 3, Fable 2, BioShock, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1 & 2, Uncharted 1& 2, Dead Space and many more.
