Born and raised a Minnesotan, I've lived in the midwest my whole life. While growing up, my family and I progressed through the lineage of Nintendo consoles. Beginning with the NES and progressing all the way to the Wii, I've owned every major Nintendo system to date with the exception of the 3Ds, which I plan on purchasing in the near future. All of my competitive gaming is done on the PC however, with League of Legends being my most-played game of all time. I'm a sucker for old school games, including but not limited to: Megaman, Contra, Castlevania, Metroid, and of course the Super Mario games.
I've spent the last 4 years in Menomonie, Wisconsin at UW-Stout. I recently graduated, with a BFA in graphic design and multimedia design. Graphic design is my both a beloved hobby and my job. Nothing makes me happier than doing what I love and getting paid for it. Shortly after graduating from Stout, I received a message from a friend of mine, informing me about the open Graphic Designer position at Game Informer. Without a moment's hesitation, I started working on as impressive of a portfolio as I could come up with, and had it sent in by the end of the day. Everything from that point on just fell into place, and now here I am; no more than a week into my employment at GI and loving it. There's nothing better than working a job where two of your biggest passions unite.
I have big plans for the future. I hope to learn as much possible about the gaming industry and how it works during my time here at Game Informer, make some great connections, continue to develop my art and design skills, and maybe one day become an artist for a big game development company like Valve or Bethesda. My dream come true would be team up with a brilliant developer or two, and create a moderately successful indie game for PC, Xbox 360 Arcade. etc. I've always been fascinated by indie games, and would love to meet some of the people behind them, and, with some luck, join their ranks some day. I've got a long journey ahead of me from here to there, but if I give it my all, there's nothing stopping me.
