Gaming didn't take full hold of me til I was in high school. I had played NES quite a bit. But not much other than Super Mario 1-3, and some baseball games I would rent once in a while. Not til 97 my parents bought a p.c. did gaming hook me. With it I experienced Duke Nukem 3d, Doom, Quake and Redneck Rampage.
When I got a PlayStation my obsession was Gran Turismo 1 then 2, Thrasher Skate and Destroy and the Driver series. My friend had an N64 and we played tons of Madden, 007, Perfect Dark and NFL Blitz. My sister had a 64 and took turns playing Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country. My sister mastered Spyro the Dragon and Tony Hawk Pro Skater on my playstation too.
02 was the year I scored a ps2 for christmas with Vice City and Gran Turismo 3. Champions of Norrath and its sequel led me to love Action/Loot RPGs. My friends and I played way too much Tiger Woods 04 and 05. Rockstar made some of the best games of the era with Vice, San Andreas, the Warriors, Bully and Manhunt. Tons of hours went into Gran Turismo 4 and other racers. NFS Carbon, NFS Pro Street, Test Drive and Midnight Club Dub Ed.
I consider the games I played during the 360/PS3 gen my favorites though. GTA 4 and the Forza 2 were the first games I bought when I bought a 360 in 08. Played Fallout 3 and Bioshock in 09 and fell in love. More and more racing with Forza, Test Drive Unlimited, NFS Shift and Midnight Club L.A. Far Cry 2 and 3 are great open world shooters.
09 I bought a PS3 and Borderlands. Red Dead Redemption is unforgettable. Dead Island Riptide satisfied my craving to kick zombies in the chest. Singularity, Dishonored, Rage, Tomb Raider, The Saboteur, L.A. Noire, Spec Ops the Line are favorites.
