  • FF1: The Last Quest

This is it. This is the final push to get to the last boss and finish the game. I've never gotten this far in the game(In fact, I had never gotten past the first boss). It's been a fun ride. It's also the shortest Final Fantasy game that I've ever played. That's not entirely surprising though since it's the first one. Anyway, It's time to trek on and complete this. Fittingly the game's last dungeon is the first one that I ever went into: The Chaos Shrine.

  • FF1: Quest For The Air Crystal

Alrighty so now I find myself in the Air Fortress, searching for the Air Crystal. In the meantime, I've bought spells to fill up Eris' and Crane's inventory. I now have the most powerful spells equipped on them. I've also gone through the Mirage Tower and leveled my party up to 41. I'm ready to get this last crystal so here we go!
I start by heading south and taking a right this time which is a departure from the normal direction I go when given the option. The path wrapped around to a room that contained a chest with a Razer in it. It turns out that that weapon isn't too good so I just relegated it to the bottom of the inventory to be sold off at the first available chance. Leaving that room I head back towards the entrance and take the path to the west. This led to another room that contained 4 chests. I left the room carrying 21950gil and a potion. Not too bad although I'm not entirely sure what I'll be using money on from here on out since I've been to every town and bought all the spells I can. Anyway, I left that room and headed back towards the entrance, this time taking the East path. I get into a battle with 4 Manticores. They're nothing too difficult. They always use Poison Darts but they've yet to actually hit any of my party members. Anyway, after the battle my party leveled up to 42! Eris now has 666 health so that's not a good omen. Anyway, I get to the room on the East side of this floor. The 5 chests inside contained 11900gil, a Healing Helm, and a Protect Ring. Exiting that room, I head back towards the entrance and take the only path left to take: the North route. Also, I'd like to note that the "Nightmare" enemy in this game has the most clever name I can remember ever being in a game. It's just fantastic. In case you don't know about the creature, the "Nightmare" is a unicorn enemy. Get it? It's great. Anyway, I take the North path and it has the warp portal to the next level.

  • FF1: The Real Quest For The Water Crystal

Okay, so this time I'm actually going to get the Water Crystal. I've talked to the guy in the Caravan and got the fairy from him so I could then go to Gaia and release it. I talked to it and it gave me some Oxygen or something that I gave to a girl who then jumped into the water and drowned herself. After that I went to the Castle of Trials or whatever and went through that ordeal. It took me FOREVER to find King Dragon Bahamut. I only found him after looking it up. Regardless, I completed that and got my party transformed into their better classed forms. I equipped Rast with just about every bit of armor I could and bought new level 7 spells for my Mages. I was also able to level my party up to 34 in that time as well. Now I've descended into the Sunken Shrine by getting inside a barrel and sinking to the bottom. I conveniently surfaced next to a ladder and begin my search for the crystal.

  • FF1: Quest For The Water Crystal

I start this chronicle in Crescent Lake, ready to begin my hunt for the Water Crystal. I should note that I am using a guide to help out with my run. However, I'm only using it loosely. By that I mean that I'm using it to point me in the right direction as to where to go since the game doesn't necessarily tell you exactly what to do. I'm not using it for dungeons or anything like that, just for the general outline of what I should be doing. Okay, so now I begin this new chapter. I loaded my party up with 30 Ethers and Hi-Potions. That's about all I can get at this point since there's no new spells that my party can use nor are there any new items. Now I make my way through the winding rivers up north to the Ice Cave.

  • FF1: Quest For The Fire Crystal

Okay so in the in-between time from lighting up the Earth Crystal until I got to the Volcano(dungeon that has the fire crystal), I went into the Earth Gift Shrine and thought it would be a good idea to traverse through there. It was easy as pie on the first three floors despite it being a massive pain in the ass to get out of the desert room. Anyway, I got to the final floor and went into a room and talked to this floating flame thing. Turned out it was Cerberus. That monster wiped the floor with my party. Luckily they don't outright kill the party but start it at the beginning of the dungeon. I decided to shelf that idea for later. That is if there is any reason to do that. I also leveled my party up 26 and purchased a few spells that I was still able to use(level 6 ones). I've now arrived at the Volcano after fighting many crocodiles which are surprisingly tough. Regardless, now begins the quest to light the Fire Crystal.

  • FF1: Quest For the Earth Crystal and Grinding

The idea to begin chronicling my experiences playing through the Final Fantasy games came after having already started playing the first game so that's why it begins a little ways through. I'm playing the game on my iphone so I'm saving after almost every encounter after having played a couple times already and lost several hours of progress so I'm being very cautious.
