The lights are on
Hyrule-heads unite! Green tights welcome. The Legend of Zelda is one of gaming's most famous franchises, and the power of the Triforce is collected here.
The Legend of Zelda series is in need of change. And with the birth of a new gobsmacking Zelda title for Wii coming in 2010, I feel Nintendo needs a few pointers. But of course this mindset is shared by the majority of Zelda fans out there. And just like Mario the formula has remained basically the same ever since the first game with the exception of The Adventure of Link. Of course there has been progress in the series, otherwise people would have stopped buying Zelda games years ago. This progress however has been very subtle and just enough to keep us coming back. Since The Ocarina of Time was released in 1998 we have yet to have any major changes to the series. The Ocarina of Time went on to sell 7.6 million copies and got one of the highest reviews of any video game in history. This was because Nintendo took the already popular Zelda series in a brand new direction and the result was absolutely amazing. So where should Nintendo go now? How can they make the Legend of Zelda fresh and new for its fans and other gamers?
i say no more on screen HUD
beware the red ring!!
These are all good points. you should poste your opinions in the tag A Better Zelda Game. We have been talking about this same thing
It would be halarious if they made a Zelda FPS.
And that's what she said.
@ john smith- well they kind of had that with the zelda shooting game that came with the wii gun attatchment
I'd like to see the Legend of Zelda games more "free world". I think they should make the PC have his own moral standing in Hyrule.
And the series DEFINITELY needs voice acting
@ The Yoshiman97,
Voice acting would be good, but they would have to get no famous actors. I wouldnt want Tom Hanks doing the voice of Link or something like that. Because when I read the text of Links speach perhaps the voice I hear in my head is totally different then the one you hear. I dont want Link to open his mouth and hear Tom Cruise.
No, I mean voice acting for the other characters. Link has been mute, and Link should stay mute!
I agree with Yoshiman. Link should stay mute. It would be interesting if the other characters were voiced though. I also think that the series should stay how it is. I like it the way it is!
steelerzfan and yoshiman97 are both right link should never speak
OMG What if the new zelda coming out for Wii, is cell-shaded, and its the sequel to Wind Waker or something. ROFL
What could they do to take Zelda in a whole new directon? What about turn based battles and classic RPG elements.... see how silly that sounds. LoZ is great the way it is. Just give a fresh story, a few new toys (double claw shot was friggen sweet) and some amazing dungeons and bosses and maybe a few more towns sprinkled thru Hyrule.
@fadelio22
I wouldn't mind that.
"A season for all things. A time to live, and a time to die, a time to build...and a time to destroy!"
i personally would like to see more involved NPCs, a much more grander story. I know saving the world from evil is pretty big, but the zelda stories are told with such a minimalistic attitude. theres hardly any real story too them. its a legend for Pete sake, its time they flesh out some real heavy story telling.
my dream is that they bring over some people from Squre-Enix to work on an amazing story that Zelda fans will be talking about for the rest of their lives
