Weekend Warrior – What's A Weekend?

by Joseph Stanichar on Jun 07, 2019 at 07:00 PM

Video games?! Who has time to play them when there are so many to cover?! As our editors prepare for the onslaught of games that comes with the biggest gaming trade show of the year, gaming time is limited. However, there's still time for gaming on the flight from Minneapolis to Los Angeles, which is when many of our editors are sneaking in their precious hours of gaming goodness. Let us know which games you're playing this weekend in the comments!

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – E3 keeps starting earlier and earlier, so this weekend I will be working! I’m excited, though. E3 is always a good time. I’ve got my fingers crossed for a peak at Playdead’s new game on the Microsoft stage.

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – Let’s see… is anything happening this weekend? Oh, that’s right! It’s the best time of the year! I’ll most likely play some more Final Fantasy VII on my Switch on the way out to E3, and hopefully squeeze in some more StarCraft II before I fly out. We’re streaming The GI Show on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights so get ready for a fun time and subscribe to the audio feed! Have a good weekend!

Imran Khan (@imranzomg) – Hahahaha, weekend. That’s a good one. I believe I am going to buy an indie game for the Switch for the plane, but I think that’s the only personal time I am going to have to play a game for myself until next Friday. I’m down for any suggestions of what I should pick up.

Jeff Cork (@gijeff) – I wish I could say I have a lot of exciting plans this weekend, but thanks to the magic of E3 I’ll be enjoying the spectator side of gaming. I’m on the home team this year, which means I don’t get to wait in massive lines or have my breath crushed out of my lungs by a crowd. On the plus side, however, when someone says, “And it’s available… NOW!” I can actually play whatever it is they’re talking about when I get home for the night. If it’s worth playing, that is. But why would anyone show off something that’s not worth playing during E3?! Sheesh!

Javy Gwaltney – This weekend (and next week during E3) I’m enjoying Super Mario Land 3D and A Link To The Past.

Suriel Vazquez (@SurielVazquez) – I'm going to try to squeeze in a run at Destiny 2's new Crown of Sorrow raid (my group is at the final encounter now), but otherwise, I'll be covering E3 stuff!

Joseph Stanichar (@JosephStanichar) – I've got work and Game Informer this weekend, so that doesn't leave much time for gaming! But I'll likely watch at least one episode of Black Mirror's new season. Previous seasons absolutely absorbed me, so I hope these three episodes don't disappoint!

Blake Woog (@woog_blake) – Weekend... Weekend... Nope, never heard of it! E3 never rests! If I do get any free time, I'm going to be giving Valkyria Chronicles on Switch a shot.

Emma Welch-Murphy (@EmmaMcmurphy) – This weekend is E3 and Game Informer is going to need us interns to lend a helping hand for all of the conference's coverage. More than anything, I'm just praying for games with in depth character creation. Hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't disappoint.

Leo Vader (@leovader) – I'll be in the office all weekend streaming press conferences and making videos! I'm super excited. If I get free time to play some games, I'll be keeping up with my dailies in Red Dead Online (that game is in a great place right now) and playing more of that Ranked Reborn playlist in Siege. Tune into the streams at youtube.com/gameinformer, they're going to be more fun than ever!!
