Netflix's Cowboy Bebop Live-Action Adaptation Gets A Cast Announcement

by Imran Khan on Apr 04, 2019 at 01:45 PM

A few months ago, Netflix announced that they would be adapting the 1998 classic anime series Cowboy Bebop into a live-action western show for the streaming service. There has been plenty of speculation and memes about the possible casting for the show, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, it appears we may have our first look at the cast and it's surprisingly alright.

As THR reports, the role of Spike Spiegel, the protagonist and space bounty hunter, is being played by John Cho. Cho is probably best known for films like Harold & KumarStar Trek, and Searching. His bounty-hunting partner, Jet Black, will be played by Luke Cage's Mustafa Shakir, who was also in the TV adaptation of American Gods. Faye Valentine is played by Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom's Daniella Pineda, while Shakespearean actor Alex Hassell will play Spike's villainous rival Vicious.

Still no word on who will be cast as the Bebop's hacker, Radical Edward.

Shinichiro Watanabe, the director of the original anime series, is a consultant on the Netflix show.
