Venom, Mystique, And Ultron Join Marvel Strike Force Roster Alongside Big 2.0 Update

by Brian Shea on Sep 25, 2018 at 04:59 PM

FoxNext's character-collection game based in the Marvel universe received a big 2.0 update today. In addition to several new features and some new objectives to earn rewards, three marquee characters are joining the roster.

Venom headlines the additions as the character's film starring Tom Hardy nears release. Players can earn Venom by completing event campaign missions and new Alpha Strike raids, which come in three difficulties and require players to use the Cosmic, Global, and City heroes on their teams. In addition to Venom, players will also soon be able to recruit Mystique and Ultron. Ultron previously appeared as a CPU-controlled enemy, but this is the first time players will be able to recruit him.

With more characters from the X-Men side of the universe coming into play, a new Mutant origin trait has been added to the game. This allows for characters who possess this trait to play off one another and equip new Mutant gear. Announced characters affected by this new trait include Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine, Storm, and Mystique.

The 2.0 update also includes a new Donation mechanic. Using this, players can donate gold and power cores in exchange for Alliance Credits and Alliance Experience. Alliance Credits are used to purchase newly introduced Stark Tech, which provides permanent buffs to characters who possess specific traits. Your Alliance unlocks more powerful Stark Tech through earning Alliance Experience.

FoxNext also implemented a new user-interface feature that tells you how your team of five synergizes with the other characters in your squad. In addition, the developer announced it's raising the level cap to 70 from 65, bringing Gear tier 13 and level 7 Abilities. Update 2.0 also includes several bug fixes.
